What is a Free Walking Tour?
A free walking tour is a guided tour of a city or location led by a local guide. These tours are typically 2-3 hours long and cover the main sights and historical points of interest. There is no set price, but participants are encouraged to tip their guide at the end based on their experience and the value they received.
What is the best way to tip my guide?
We greatly appreciate tips as they are the main source of income for our passionate guides. The best way to show your appreciation is by tipping in cash at the end of the tour. This allows your guide to receive the full amount directly. There are several ATMs conveniently located near our meeting points, so you can easily withdraw cash if needed.
Do I need to book the Rio Free Walking tour in advance?
No need to book a spot in advance, just show up at the meeting point 10 minutes before the starting time. Find the meeting points and starting times for each tour here.

What should I bring to the tours?
Comfortable shoes, light clothes, sunblock, sunglasses and bottled water. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your smile !
Are the tours cancelled due to bad weather?
Sunny and rainy days, we are waiting for you. Unless there is really heavy rain, we will be there to explore Rio with you.
I have heard Rio is a very dangerous city. Is that true? Can I bring my camera or phone to the tour?
As any big city, Rio is not 100% safe. We recommend to avoid bringing jewerly. Cameras and phones usually are ok. The tour guides are always paying attention to the surroundings but we cannot guarantee 100% safety.
