Fantastic tour, Rafael is brilliant! The walking tour was amazing. It was our first day in Rio, and it was a perfect introduction to the city, we learnt so much! We also felt that having this on our first day really inspired us and gave us more confidence to explore as much of the city as we could during the time we had. Great tour and awesome guide! I visited Rio alone so signed onto a walking tour and it was awesome! Rafael was super knowledgeable and the whole thing felt really personalised. He walked me around areas I’d previously visited alone but he shed a new light on them and explained the history. I’ve done lots of walking tours so lots of cities but this one was definitely a favourite.

Are the free tours really free?

Yes, they are. We don’t charge anything. But we encourage tipping the tour guides at the end of the tour. It’s not mandatory but it helps them to keep going.

How do I join the Free Walking Tour? Do I need to book?

You choose! Either you save your spot booking by email or WhatsApp or just show up!

What are the days and times that you are operating the Free Tours?

From Monday to Saturday at 09:30am.

What should I bring to the tours?

Comfortable shoes, light clothes, sunblock, sunglasses and bottled water. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your smile !

I have heard Rio is a very dangerous city. Is that true? Can I bring my camera or phone to the tour?

As any big city, Rio is not 100% safe. We recommend to avoid bringing jewerly. Cameras and phones usually are ok. The tour guides are always paying attention to the surroundings but we cannot guarantee 100% safety.

If I want to tip the guide, how much should I pay and how can I pay?

As previously explained tips are not mandatory but around the world usually the tip is around US$ 10.00. Feel free to give as much as you want. Just remember the tour guides don’t have credit card machines.

Are the tous cancelled due to bad weather?

What about the Private Tours? What are the differences? Are they worht it?

Althought our Free Walking Tour is excellent and complete, the Private Walking Tours have more flexiblility and are greats options if you want exclusive attention, different days and times for your group. Totally worth it!
